Talk to Me

This is the post in which I open up the comments section to my blog readers and ask you: What Do You Want Me to Post About?

Sometimes I find things to blog about each and every day for a while. Sometimes the blog goes a week without a peep. It ebbs and flows according to my meatspace life and mental state, which is the same for many, many 'Net related things.

But I want to know--what do you guys want to see? What sort of posts do you like? Should I talk more about THREE DAYS TO DEAD? Less? More book reviews? Fewer book reviews? More discussion posts? More silly rants in which I make a goofball of myself?

Sound off and talk to me. I really am interested. You're my audience, and I want to keep the blog interesting for y'all.

When was the moment you said okay. I'm going to sit down and write a book?

Oooooh, now that will make an interesting post. Awesome question!

Assorted writing wisdom you'd like to impart. Things you've learned as a writer. Goofball posts. And how it feels to be a real American hero.

Heh. I'll have to break out my Chaos Titan banner for the hero post. *g*

Hi Kelly :)
Have you done a post about "The Call" yet?
Or how it felt to get your author copies?
Or how your family reacted when a) you said you were writing a novel & b) when you said you sold your novel
Future Blog Post - On Author Signings
Future Blog Post - On seeing your novel in the bookstore you've always gone to.

Hi, Kelly!

I would like to see you post about your platform.

How much of it was in place when you first started querying? Do you think your platform was a factor in you finding representation? How much or how little do your agent and publish talk to you about the work you put into your platform? (Or do they even care about that.)

:)

Also, I would love to read about your take on world building. I LOVE your first chapter, but unless I missed it, I don't remember reading what city Evy Stone is in.

Here is the big question I am wondering about: Does your story take place in a fictionalized version of a real-world city, or did you create your own world completely. More importantly, how did you come to the decision of where to place your story?

I would love to read you blog about that. :)

RK - Haven't gotten my author copies yet, so I'll file that away under Future Posts. Thanks for all the ideas!

Bill - Great topics! Especially the world-building one. It was one of the things I blathered on a bit at my Dragon*Con panel. Awesome!

Frak! I will NOT miss Dragon*Con 2010.

Kelly, anybody record the panel(s) you and Nicole were on and post them somewhere ... far as you know?

:)

Heh. When I say blather, I'm not kidding. I don't do well with giving on-the-spot answers to questions, which is why I never raised my hand in class. I also tend to ramble and lose my train of thought quite easily.

Which is why I'm a writer, and not a public speaker. :)

Kelly Meding/Kelly Meade said...

No, I don't think anyone recorded my and Nicole's panel. No evidence! Yay!

I say everything! :-D Oh, and contests. :-D

I did see some of the panels get recorded, but the new blood one everyone was still getting over standing in line for 3 hours for their badges. I didn't even take any photos for the first 4 hours trying to find my way around the hotels.
